Mother's Day is Sunday, May 12th. We've been checking out a few DIY projects and ideas on Pinterest and we've found a few that will make the perfect gift for any mother. From "hand"made cards to customized coffee cups, here are just a few of our favorite finds!
Organization with Style
Whether it is pictures or important notes, this quick and easy memo board idea from Better Homes and Gardens will add style and function to your mother's home. Simply cut decorative paper and glue to the inside of a repurposed cookie sheet. Add a few fun vintage magnets and a few photos of you with your mom for an added touch.
Dinnerware By You
Make your mother's morning coffee or tea special with a custom designed cup -- by you! All you need is an oven, a Sharpie and a cup as The Sweetest Occasion Blog demonstrates. You can draw her a picture, write her name or include a favorite quote. The design opportunities are limitless and the end result will be a gift she will cherish sip after sip.
For the Chef
If your mother loves to cook and store recipes on her iPad, here is a simple, rustic recipe holder for the kitchen from the creator of the Mamie Jane's blog site. This easy project repurposes an old wire potato masher from your utensil drawer or from a local thrift store into a unique recipe holder. Want to take it a step further? Paint the handle and add your mother's name with a Sharpie paint pen.
The site also offers an instructional on turning a cutting board into a recipe holder.
We Love You This Much
This card is charming and a fantastic way to incorporate the kids in a craft project. The card expands to reveal "This Much" and on the back you can write "Happy Mother's Day."
