As spring has officially arrived, I find myself contemplating changing up the locations of some of my furniture -- and this includes the den or living room.
Dens are typically an informal space where family gathers to spend quality time together. They are usually playful, upbeat with several nooks and seating options. They're also usually accented with personal and quirky items rich in memories.
Here are a few dens uniquely designed to help bring the family together.
The den at the Elk Ridge Lodge is an open concept that uses furniture to break up the living space. Whether you are playing a board game at the small table or conversing in front of the fire, the occupants of the room feel connected to each other and the space.
Have some extra room in the basement? Or even a spare room that could be converted into a family room? BHG.com suggests painting the walls white and include plenty of accent lighting, such as table and floor lamps.

Bed Home Theater
If your home is like mine, family time in front of the television soon becomes a dogpile of family members - including the furry kind. Why not embrace the snuggle time and invest in a piece of furniture that will encourage this bonding.
