Welcome Back, Wallpaper!

As most of us are saying "out with the old, in with the new" around this time of the year, this doesn't necessary apply to home decor.

As we roll into 2013, it appears that wallpaper is making a resurgence in home decorating trends.  Since the 60s, homeowners have been using wallpaper to add a pop of color to walls or a bit of customization to a room. While there is history in the use of wallpaper, the modern design tool comes in various styles, colors, textures and designs.

According to, "patterns in bright colors, large designs and images, classic small wallpaper patterns in light pastel colors are top modern wallpaper design trends for 2013."

From traditional to modern graphic, wallpaper  can transform any room into your favorite room.  It can also exaggerate the height by just adding the paper to the bottom half of the wall.  If a full room of wallpaper isn't for you, it is easy to create a dramatic focal point by using it on an accent wall.

Like paint, the key to investing in wallpaper is to buy what you know and love.  By staying within your home decor comfort zone, be it bold graphics or just a soft blue, the paper will be something you will enjoy for a long time.

Rent? Don't want to commit to just one wallpaper for a lengthy period? There is a solution: self-adhesive, "peel-and-stick" re-positionable wallpaper, such as Tempaper.  It works a lot like drawer-liners and is easy to hang in any room.  Simply remove the backing and adhere to the wall of your choosing.

Wall Dressed Up offers Mural Wall Transfers to add a unique look to your office, room or hallway.  From breakaway brick to a Tuscan Window, you can add decorative artwork to your home easy and without paint or mess.

Happy New Year and happy decorating!
