Design Tips: Colored Sinks for the Bath

The latest in today's colors, brightened up for the bath. Kohler's new colors for their Demi Lav Wading Pool sink series includes fresh bright pastels in turquoise, light emerald, teal and yellow and many more. But wait, they sure look like the original bathrooms in my 1950s ranch house! New and old, comfortable and edgy, all at the same time.

I love the shape of this sink, very modern but with a soft side.

Have a mostly white bathroom but need a punch of color? Want some interesting off-whites with pinkish, grayish or greenish tints? Check out this Kohler line for some inspiration, even if you can't envision a yellow sink. I like using darker and lighter versions of the same color, with a neutral accent.

One of my vintage baths has sinks, toilet, tub and accent tile in a color similar to the turquoise, and the field tile is a lighter version of the same color.

I painted the cabinetry a warm white and the walls a pale yellow for a modern yet vintage feel. I used terra cotta accessories and towels for a rich look.

Have some fun, be bold in the bath. Or not, at least it's fun looking!

Until next time!
