What I don't like is the colossal mess that is in my ribbon box. This is where I store all the tissue papers, ribbon, cards, bows and gift bags. And, my wrapping paper rolls never fit in the box because I buy most of it on rolls! So wrapping time means several trips to the basement to gather everything up. Once I even bought a lovely holiday themed box to store all that in. That was a failure, too, because it was expensive, to small even for all my ribbons and then the rolls didn't fit in it either. Half the time the tissue is wrinkled and other papers are bent, too. Ugh!
Then I saw these amazing storage solutions from Crate and Barrel and online from Home Decorators Collection. I'm going to try one of these fabulous wrapping carts! All my stuff will fit, stay organized and neat. I'll store it in a closet so my cats won't think the ribbon is a fun toy, then wheel the whole thing out to my craft table when I'm ready to wrap! I will even buy an extra pair of scissors and more tape, so everything will be handy and I won't have to go chase down tape from another part of the house.
Crate and Barrel's cart (pictured at the top) retails for $149.95 and has nice sturdy wheels. It comes in white only and you need to assemble it. The Home Decorators Collection "Stanton" cart is more expensive at $199 (at right) but comes in a dark cherry wood tones, white and aqua and red! I like having more than one drawer as well as the 8 ribbon dowels for the extra storage.
I may get two, one for the holidays and one for birthdays, weddings, and other occasions. I'm just excited to be able to neatly keep all my wrapping supplies neat and handy.
Until next time!
