It takes a special touch to turn a house into a home. So, why DIY? There are a few reasons why people roll up their sleeves to create their own home masterpieces:
1) Deeper Connection to Your Space
We live in a world where everything is at our fingertips. To get back into contact with your world, it is critical to be a part of the process. By investing time and creative energy in a project, you develop a stronger connection to your home.
2) Tapping Into Your Creative Side
Everyone is creative in their own way. Some people are innovative and can dream up impressive displays or work of art. Some need to be inspired by an idea to spark creative juices and take the idea a step further with their vision of what it could be. DIY taps into everyone's creative trait and allows it to flourish.
3) Reuse. Recycle. Reclaim.
You don't have to buy new or make a huge investment to transform your home. Often times, DIY is nothing more than using something for a purpose other than what it is intended. Old porch steps have been sanded, painted and used in guestrooms for a nightstand. This make home decor budget and eco-friendly.
So, what project or idea do you have to add that special touch to your living space? How have you incorporated DIY into your home?
