Watery images in particular and hazy trees are recurring themes. Her encaustic treatments over paint are like dreamy memories of faraway places. Boats and people swimming or diving appear frequently in her world as well.
Like a partially remembered story, in each work Bonfils has left many details out, opening the door for our own interpretation of her subject matter.
Many of her works are large and would be suitable in living rooms, dining rooms, entries, bedrooms as well as commercial spaces and lobbies. She also works in tryptich, where three smaller paintings intended to be hung together to create a larger work. She also does commissions.
