Last week I talked about how to create a colorful and decorative bulletin board to hold your to do lists as well as pictures or mementos, and today I’ll continue on that themes. Shadow boxes are a great way to display the same moments and memories as you would in a scrapbook, but in a more prominent and visible manner. A shadow box is like a picture frame that has a significant depth aspect to it so you can display items other than pictures in a fun design.
This picture is a fun example from the DIY network of a more decorative style shadow box, but they can be any style you want them to be. Other boxes can be more scrapbook style with pictures, tickets, and miniatures to remember a point in time like this one from the blog Scrappity Scrap which has some great ideas on how to create scrapbooks and other methods of preserving memories.
Most framing shops will make shadow boxes for you if you are feeling less than crafty, but as in the past few projects, the point is to personalize and to make it your own so your room reflect yourself.
Until next week!
