Design Tips: Put a World Beat into Your Bath

We’re past Zen. Been done. Modern Euro Sleek… ok. Rustic Americana… so… so rustic. Where’s a person to look for a fresh blend of modern functionality and clean lines but a beautiful hand-made look? Think Africa!

Vitruvit’s “Ethnic” line of sinks and other bath fixtures successfully combine contemporary sensibility toward function with sculptural forms inspired by ancient traditions of stonework and pottery. The result is eye catching – calm, familiar but exciting and new.

Mated with earthy colors, woods and smooth surfaces, these basins anchor a room that’s cleanly architectural as well as comfortable, friendly and warm.

Keep it simple and sleek: accessorize with just one or two rustic baskets or vases to avoid an overly heavy-handed African-themed bath… leave the warrior masks and spears in the hall!

Until next time!
