DIY Wall Art

This week's project is a great alternative to the same old cork boards to display cards, photos, etc. It also looks a whole lot more interesting than a piece of plain old cork! It's actually made out of gutter toppers! The project is so simple, so different, and so inexpensive! To make this art display you'll need gutter toppers, metal cup hooks, spray paint in any color you want, clothespins, magnets, glue, your photos/cards, a tape measurer, a pencil, and a cordless drill. First, measure the short side of one gutter topper to determine where to place the hanging hooks. Drill two holes in the wall, then screw the hooks into the wall. Repeat this step for each gutter topper. Hang them at different intervals, like the one above. Spray paint your clothespins in the color of your choice. Once they're dry glue a small magnet to the back of the clothespin. Now just hang your art as shown! Easy eh? They're great for displaying holiday cards or images for a birthday party or other gathering...or just for everyday use! I hope you enjoy! Remember to have fun and be creative!
Happy Friday! DIY Jill

Wonderful finds here! Also, I made an interesting discovery. Here’s an excerpt from an article I wrote about it this month…
Bring Out The YOU In Your Home Decor!
Bill Blass said, “Style is primarily a matter of instinct.” Decorating takes on a new meaning for each individual. Different tastes in decor mean different furniture, artwork and color palettes. So what is the rule of thumb for making your place zing if it’s not a certain style, pattern, or color?
Bring out the Y-O-U!
Make a statement and let your personality shine through! Add your zing to make it pop. Hang something personal on the wall with a few well-chosen accents-bold and beautiful. The trend for decor is becoming more and more personalized.
Whatever you want to say while decorating, say it with your own individual style. Put it out there for the world to see and don’t look back. Express yourself! When people enter your home they’ll shoot you a complementary smile, knowing it looks and feels sooooo perfectly like you. And no one can do YOU better.

Another great wall art idea is vinyl wall art especially for dorms as it is removable.

The idea is really sweet. I love displaying photos because they remind me of precious memories. I really like the creativity and I might as well do this in my room. Thanks!
